The Rangebow Festival

A diverse and creative not-for-profit festival at multiple sites across the Sunshine Coast Hinterland: Maleny, Montville, Flaxton and Mapleton. The festival program features film, theatre, arts, taste, music, nature and cultural events to celebrate community, diversity, inclusivity, reconciliation, sustainability, creativity and expression. No barriers

Rangebow is dedicated to fostering a world where Diversity, Inclusion, Sustainability, and Reconciliation are at the forefront.

No boundaries

Our mission is to create a space where every voice is heard and valued, and where the beauty of our differences is celebrated.

Everyone on stage

Through engaging events and thought-provoking art, we aim to inspire change and build a more cohesive community.

Music at first light starts the program.

Begin your Rangebow journey with a moment of shared wonder.

Sunrise Celtic Chorus on Jinibara opens the 2026 Rangebow Festival with a breathtaking dawn performance on the escarpment at Flaxton Gardens, where sweeping views stretch from the Sunshine Coast hinterland to the Pacific Ocean below. Beneath the magnificent bunya trees and the wide morning sky, audiences gather as the first light of day slowly touches the horizon.

Led by acclaimed Irish composer and performer Alan Kelly, frontman of the celebrated Celtic band The Barleyshakes, this extraordinary collaboration brings together Celtic musicians, First Nations artist Lyndon Davis featuring the resonant voice of the didgeridoo, and a world-class local string quartet.

Beginning with haunting, atmospheric tones that echo ancient traditions and the spirit world shared across cultures, the music gradually lifts and brightens as the sun rises — transforming into a joyful celebration of light, connection and possibility.

At the heart of the performance is a specially composed theme that invites the audience to join in a simple shared chorus — welcoming the day together.

This magical gathering of musicians offers a once-a-year experience: a quiet, beautiful moment to pause, breathe and greet the dawn.

And for those who prefer a gentler start, a second performance at 7am offers the same music and breathtaking scenery — just with a little more daylight.

Unique. Uplifting. Unforgettable.

Designed for the open air at dawn. Should the weather intervene, the experience will move to a sheltered venue, with details provided ahead of time.
